FIS World Cup in Deer Valley

Things are getting exciting up at Deer Valley this weekend as they kick off the FIS World Cup. The best freestyle athletes in the world have gathered in Park City to compete in the Freestyle Aerials and Moguls competition. Athletes compete on the same runs that were used in the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics. This is Deer Valley’s 16th year of hosting international freestyle skiing events, so it is not there first rodeo. They know how to put on a good show.

Things got started last night with the Aerials competition. There were flips, spins, big air, and of course a lot of crashing that went down. In the end, it was exciting to see three Americans finish on the podium. Ashley Caldwell and Kiley Mckinnon taking 1st and 2nd in the Ladies’ Aerials, and Mac Bohonnon taking 2nd in the Mens Aerials.
