If you’re anything like me, you’ve been longing for this moment for months, the first snowfall. Several inches of snow have fallen in the past few days and the ski resorts opening in just 10 days. Park City’s $50-million capital improvements have been well under way as they’ve been busy implementing resort renovations, upgrades, and their massive project – combining Park City Mountain Resort with Canyons Resort to create the largest ski area in the United States.
Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is investing over $35 million into new capital improvements for the 2015/16 season. Improvements include:
- New mountain top facility: The Summit at Snowbird
- Extensive remodel of The Cliff Lodge
- RFID/Smartcard ticketing
- Increased snowmaking capabilities
- Expanded meeting space
On July 31, 2015, resort leadership officially combined the Park City and Canyons brands into one, under the name Park City, with a new logo combining the Canyons insignia with the Park City color palette, and the tag line “There is only one. Park City.”
