A Saturday in Park City

Park City is one of the many gems you can find in Utah. Consistently winning awards for their fine tourism, Park City knows how to take care of their guests. With all of the great restaurants, night clubs, and ski resorts, there is all kinds of fun to be had in this ski town. Whether you drive up from Salt Lake for the day, or make a whole weekend trip out of it, you have got to get away to Park City sometime this winter to enjoy. Not sure what to do when you get there? Here is how we would spend a Saturday in Park City…

Start your day off with a hot cup of jo from Bumps ‘N Grinds, a small little coffee shack on the mountain. Melissa, one of our all-time favorite baristas, will probably be there to greet you with a smile and brew you a nice hot cup coffee. Definitely try out one of their specialties. The thin mint is a classic.

After you have satisfied your caffeine craving, walk next door to visit the friendly staff at our Park City Ski ‘N See or ARCS shops (they are located right next to each other, so really, go to either one). Tyler will hook you up with some nice rentals for the day. And this year, with our stock of brand new Rossi Experience 80 skis, our preferred rental package can’t be beat!

Once you’ve got your ski gear, walk up to the Payday lift, at Park City Mountain Resort, and start making some runs! Because let’s be honest, that is hands down, the best way to spend time in Park City. Make sure to ski Sunrise, a classic intermediate run off the McConkey’s lift. If you are more of an advanced rider, and feeling ambitious, make sure to hit up Jupiter Peak and Jupiter Bowl. These areas are for riders looking for those untracked stashes of powder. Enjoy exploring the mountain. You will find all kinds of terrain for every level of skier! When you feel like heading in for lunch (around noon), RESIST! That is the best time to be on the mountain. Everyone else will be in having lunch and you will get all of the best runs to yourself!

After the lunch rush is over, head back down towards the Payday lift to grab some grub. Walk over to Legends Bar & Grill and sit down to enjoy the best burger in town. Seriously. It’s good. And maybe even order a plate of nachos to share, they are quite delicious as well. Make sure to find a seat by the fire so you can warm up your toes!

Once you have warmed up and you are ready to go again, head back out for a few more runs! Towards the end of the day, people start to wear out and the crowds begin to dwindle. It is a great time to be on the mountain. Plus, you may even get a little goggle tan if the sun comes out!

Once you can’t feel your legs because you have worked them so hard on the slopes, call it a day and head back down towards Legacy Lodge. Walk over to Baja Cantina for some Après Ski fun! Grab some drinks and enjoy their classic Mexican entrees, or appetizers. If the weather is nice, you can sit out on the patio to take in more of that fresh mountain air.

If by the evening, you still have a little bit of party in you, grab your friends and head over to Park City Live to catch a concert! Try to carpool or take public transportation, because parking can be a little crazy. Located in the heart of Park City, on Main Street, Park City Live always has something exciting going on. With performers like Macklemore, Stevie Nicks, and The Shins, Park City Live has some of the greatest entertainment in town. Once you’ve had about all that you can take, head home, or back to your hotel, or wherever you came from, and call it a day!
