Ski Like A Girl – International Women’s Ski Day

Last Saturday, lady shredders all over the world gathered together at their local ski resorts to represent the women skiers of the world. Every year the K2 Ski Alliance puts on International Women’s Ski Day so that the world can see just how rad it is to ski like a girl. This year has been a ground-breaking year for women in the ski world. Between Angel Collinson landing opening segment in TGR’s award winning film, Almost Ablaze, and Lyndsey Dyer’s production of an a girls ski film this year, the women in the ski industry are making a statement. These girls can rip down the mountain just as hard, if not harder, than a lot of the guys, and they want to be recognized for it.

Solitude Mountain Resort is ready to recognize these women. As one of the hosts of International Women’s Ski/Snowboard Day, they put on a killer party for the lady skiers of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Between brats, beer, raffles, tutus and all-girl bomb runs, it was an awesome day on the mountain. The fresh pow that was delivered the night before wasn’t so bad either. With pro-skiers like Gretta Eliassen and Shannon Bahrke there to lead the pack, these ladies showed everyone on the mountain how they can rip.

Big ups to Solitude for hosting the event and a huge thanks to SheJumps, Spread Stoke, SLC Fit Collective, Epic Brewing, and Utah Avalanche Center for the support!
