Suit Up for Snow with Ski Utah

Are you the guy who has 16 winter coats in your closet because you don’t know what to do with your old ones? Donate them! Ski Utah is collecting clean, gently used winter coats and jackets as part of the first annual Suit Up for Snow project.

Coats of all sizes are welcome and will be distributed to The First Chair and The Road Home. The First Chair’s mission is to help children from low-income households access learn-to-ski or snowboard programs. The Road Home operates out of The Salt Lake Community Shelter and provides basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, while connecting people with resources to help integrate them back into the community.

The coat drive will run through November 1, with drop off locations at participating Resort ticket offices, Ski ‘N See locations, the Rowmark Ski Swap and the Ski Utah Office. For the complete list of drop off locations go to http://www.skiutah.com/files/Snow_donation_location.pdf.

“Ski Utah and our resort partners are excited to give back to our local community, while continuing to raise awareness among locals and visitors about all of the exciting new pass options,” said Ski Utah President Nathan Rafferty. “Both First Chair and The Road Home are great organizations for Ski Utah to partner with and we look forward to collecting as many coats as possible through the Suit up for Snow project.”

With the donation of a gently used coat, donors can enter to win fabulous prizes including a Yeti Pass, Rossignol Skis, a Burton Snowboard and assorted merchandise from Smith, Dakine and Hot Chillys. Ski n’ See will offer a discount on a new jacket purchase if you donate a coat at one of our participating stores. The discount is $10 Off any Jacket $99-198, $20 Off any Jacket $199-$298 and $35 Off any Jacket over $299.

About Ski Utah

Ski Utah is the marketing firm owned and operated by the 14 statewide ski resorts that make up the Utah Ski and Snowboard Association. The organization has been creating brand awareness of and demand for the Utah wintersports product since its inception in 1978. Ski Utah’s primary functions are concentrated in marketing, public policy and public relations.

About The Road Home

The Road Home operates out of The Salt Lake Community Shelter, the largest homeless shelter in Utah. We begin by providing people with basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, while immediately working with them to develop a plan for housing. Our programs are designed to connect people with resources and help integrate them back into the community.

About The First Chair

The First Chair’s mission is to help children from low-income households access learn-to-ski or snowboard programs. They facilitate funding for outfitting, transportation and enrollment into learn-to-ski or snowboard programs. Their initiative begins in Utah and the hope is to continue to grow and help on a national level.

Ski’N See Rentals

On-mountain or en route to every major Utah resort; Ski ‘N See is Utah’s Premier Ski and Snowboard Shops, serving Utah skiers since 1987. With 12 locations and delivery in select areas, the Ski ‘N See family of shops is large enough to handle the biggest groups and small enough to care.
