Which Utah Ski Resort is Best for You?

Skiers come from all over to ski Utah’s famous light and fluffy powder. The great snow has made Utah home to some of the best ski resorts in the world. But, with so many great resorts to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which one will best suit you. Here is an inside look at some of our favorite Utah resorts. Check it out!

ALTA SKI AREA
Alta is a skier only resort for the No-Nonsense shredders out there. There you will find all of the powderhounds, as Alta consistently gets more snow than any other ski resort in Utah (alongside Snowbird). They are known for their steep, deep, powder…and the traversing you have to do to get to it. Although Alta is loved by some of the most extreme skiers out there, you will also find great runs for beginners off lifts like Sunnyside and Cecret.

SNOWBIRD SKI & SUMMER RESORT
Snowbird is one of the trendier resorts in Utah. You will find more advance riders at the ‘Bird because it is famous for its’ wide variety of steep terrain. Many people feel that the difficulty rankings on the runs at Snowbird are a bit off. Greens at the Bird are like blues anywhere else and blues are like blacks. Alongside Alta, Snowbird gets more snow than any other Utah resorts, so much snow that there have been seasons that Snowbird has stayed open for skiing until the 4th of July!

BRIGHTON RES0RT
Brighton is like a huge playground. Whether you are in their terrain park or skiing through the trees, you will find all kinds of fun features to play on. Famous for their ski school (and free skiing for kids), Brighton is very well-rounded and is a great resort for the whole family. Plus, to add to the fun they have 200 acres of lit terrain for night skiing!

SOLITUDE MOUNTAIN RESORT
Solitude is for riders that want to ski the Cottonwoods but don’t want to deal with the crowds. It is famous for being the resort that you never have to wait in a line at. With great powder bowls that you can to hike to, you can always count on finding something untracked. Solitude has a very family-friendly environment and has a good variety of runs for every level of rider in the group.

SNOWBASIN RESORT
At Snowbasin you’ll find luxury for a bargain. With lodges that are so nice that you feel like you shouldn’t be wearing your ski boots inside (don’t worry…it is totally acceptable to wear your ski boots inside the lodge). Snowbasin is one of the hidden gems of Utah. A ski resort that is away from it all…and that’s how we like it. It’s not hard to find untracked powder after a storm at Snowbasin and you don’t have to deal with the crowds that you run into at places like the Cottonwoods or Park City. And with two gondolas, it is easy and quick to access all the great parts of the mountain.

PARK CITY MOUNTAIN RESORT
Located at the heart of Park City, you can’t beat PCMR’s prime location. You can spend the morning on the mountain, ski down to Main Street to grab some Davanza’s for lunch, then take Town Lift back up to ski out the rest of the day! Park City is famous for their groomed intermediate runs and has phenomenal terrain parks. A great destination for families with skiers of all abilities.

DEER VALLEY RESORT
Deer Valley is a resort for those seeking luxury. They are famous for their top-of-the-line service and are consistently ranked as one of the best ski resorts in America. Like Alta, Deer Valley is a skier only resort. You will love skiing the corduroy on their impeccably groomed runs. Deer Valley is a place to go if you enjoy being treated like royalty (and let’s be honest…who doesn’t?).

Although some resorts cater better to certain types of skiers, all of the resorts have groomed runs for every level of skier and they all get awesome pow! So really, you can’t go wrong. Check out our discount lift tickets for all of the listed resorts HERE.
