As the world celebrates their country’s contributions to the medal podium at the Winter Games in Sochi, Utah has more to celebrate than most. To start, one Utah college has offered up more Olympians than any other college in the world to this year’s Olympics. Westiminster in Salt Lake City comprises 10% of the 230 athletes competing in Sochi. And, if they were to offer medals based on the number of medals won by one state, this is what the podium would look like:
Gold: Utah = 4 Medals
Silver: Vermont = 3
Bronze: California and Colorado (tie) = 2
