Planning a Trip To Bear Lake, Utah

Many of us have been to, or probably heard of, the classic Utah summer destination, Bear Lake.  It is big, blue, and typically a bit too cold to jump in.  Though the water frigid, that is where all the fun is at.  Bear Lake is always awesome…but here are a few things that will make your trip even better.

BRING A PADDLE BOARD.

Stop by Ski N’ See to rent or buy a stand up paddleboard for the weekend! Though you likely won’t be catching any gnarly waves up at Bear Lake, a paddle board makes hanging out at the beach a whole lot more fun.  Taking a stand up paddleboard for a ride is a great way to stay cool without jumping all the way in the cold water.

TAKE AN EARLY MORNING WAKEBOARD RUN ON THE EAST SIDE.

The greatest part about Bear Lake is playing on the boat.  However, many people complain about how quickly the water gets choppy due to the wind or all of the other boaters on the lake. That can really put a damper on the trip if you are wanting to spend time wakeboarding or waterskiing. The east side tends to stay glassy longer because it is less crowded.  So, get up early and spend the first half of the day practicing your wakeboard skills over there.

MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR FAVORITE BOATING PLAYLIST

What is wakeboarding without a little pump up music?  Music makes a day on the lake much more fun.  Whether you’re jamming to The Red Hot Chili Peppers or Jay-Z, a boating playlist is a must.

GO INTO GARDEN CITY TO GET YOURSELF A RASPBERRY SHAKE!

Spending all day in the sun playing can be exhausting! Reward yourself with a famous raspberry shake.  Where should you go to find one of these famous shakes?  You have quite a few options, and to be honest, most of them taste about the same.  Downtown Garden City is where you will find popular restaurants like La Beaus, Quick ‘N Tasty, and the new restaurant on the block, Zippz.
