Skiing Utah? Don’t Miss These Staff Tips!

Ski season is in full swing! Here at Ski N’ See, ARCs Ski & Board, and UtahSkis, our professionally trained staff is ready to answer your questions about rentals, new gear, and what you can expect from each resort (terrain, ability levels offered, etc.). To ensure you have a great experience skiing Utah, our staff has offered up a few recommendations.

Whether it’s insider tips on restaurant eats après ski, sites to visit, activities, or favorite resorts, the staff at our 15 locations is ready to help!

Zac Oman, Bountiful Shop: “My favorite resort is Snowbasin! It’s like Utah’s best kept secret. Great snow and fun terrain. You’ll always have fun at Snowbasin plus, the gondolas and lodges are a great way to relax the legs. EVERYONE needs to take a day up to Snowbasin.”

Andrew Emery, E-Commerce Manager: “My personal favorite place to ride is Solitude Ski Resort. The name says it all, with no lift lines and some hidden terrain, it’s my favorite resort! My one recommendation for people coming to Utah is to try more than one resort! Every resort has a unique feel, so try a couple and find your favorite. Après ski, hit Porcupine Grill, located at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon – it’s a great place to eat after a day on the hill. Oh, and try the nachos!!! You won’t regret it.”

Logan Pectol, Bountiful Shop: “There are so many fun things to do in Utah. Make sure to check out Temple Square if you are here during Christmas time!! Be prepared to see some of the best lights in the world. The City Creek Mall is right next door, so you can go get some hot chocolate or shop from the best in Utah. It will make for a great night.”

Ian Ericksen, Bountiful Shop Manager: “I think a great place to stop after a long day of skiing is Porcupine Grill. It’s on the way home from any of the Cottonwood Canyon resorts. It’s definitely some of the best food in Utah and hits the spot after a good day of shredding. Don’t worry about going in your ski clothes, that’s the vibe there.”

Chuck Schollmeyer, Salt Lake City (Downtown) Shop Manager: “Solitude is the best ski resort because it lives up to its name. It’s always empty up there and it’s fun to ski. On your days off from skiing, tubing at Gorgoza Park in Park City is a great way to rest your legs.”

Of course, I also have to offer my own piece of advice. One of my favorite places to ride is Brighton Ski Resort. It’s a great place for boarders and there are a ton of tree trails. There’s nothing quite like floating through the trees on a quiet powder day. If you are hungry and you happen to be in Salt Lake City, you have to check out Crown Burgers!! It’s one of the best places to eat in Utah. Get the Crown Burger and smother it in fry sauce (if you don’t know what fry sauce is, that’s an even better reason to go!) You will not be disappointed. There are a few in the valley so you can’t miss out!
