Vendor Clinics – Professional Employees

Here at Ski ‘N See we ride what we sell, when you come in to our shops we want you to know that you are being served by employees who are avid passionate skiers and snowboarders who are trained in their profession.

Some times, the employees in ski shops (especially the younger employees) give off the vibe that the shop is a laid back chill zone. Now, we do want our customers and our employees to feel comfortable in the shop, but we also want a professional upbeat environment. So how do you achieve this type of feeling inside a ski shop? Train the employees to be experts on almost everything in the store.

Ski ‘N See hires about fifty new employees at the beginning of every ski season to get ready for the seasonal increase of activity in our stores. Now like I said earlier, we don’t want to hire just any ski bum who is willing to work a few hours a week to help pay for their beers after skiing, we want real professionals. Ski ‘N See looks for experienced skiers and snowboarders – people who have spent a good chunk of time on the mountain, but we also select the most professional people we can find, and then on top of that, we train them.

“Vendor Clinics” – for Ski ‘N See employees this phrase means long nights in the shop listening to brand representatives talk about why their product is the greatest. Now that sounds like it can be a little boring, but let me tell you, for the employees at Ski ‘N See it is pretty exciting. Reps from some of the biggest brands like K2, Rossignol, Volkl, Burton, Atomic, Smith, and many others come to our shops to train employees on the specifics on the products that we sell. This helps us because we become better vendors, this helps you because you know when you come to Ski ‘N See you are talking to trained professionals.

One representative from North Face, Matt, said that “these clinics are important because it trains the average employee to master the basics of the products” and then expand their knowledge to better serve the customer.

When it comes down to it, at Ski ‘N See you can expect professional service from trained skiers and snowboarders. What else could you want from a ski shop?
